In the history of three dimensional design, there was a phonomenon in the 18th century France Rococo world called Chinoserie, as French aristocrat women were crazy about "everything Chinese", Nowadays, the history is ironically  reversed - Chinese women are chasing after Western luxury. This jewelry box combines traditional Chinese architecture patterns - fret, with modern form and reflective materials, to intrepret the cage that has been built by the material fetishism in contemporary Chinese culture.
