Proposal

This product design/media installation is a speculate design that transferring long distance care into the tangible actions.  As the name indicated, it is a physical alarm clock that awakes a person by “hit”. Instead of using the phone or clock to set up a digital alarm, it is activated by the action of another person. When the people from long distance presses “hit” button on the phone, the clock will hit the sleeping people, and then send a picture of their awaking face to the action initiator. Adding this physical action and responses to the alarm clock,  it infuses love and care into the getting up process. It not only provides a efficient way to wake a person up, but also makes long distance communication interactive in a tangible and day-by-day practice. In this digital age, interactions are in a trend of being virtual, fast and mindless. This project tends to bring the mindful care back into people’s eyesight, provides people in long distance a way of tangible interaction through the simplest daily weak up process.
